Benfica are just one win away from becoming national champions, extending their lead over Porto to 2-0 in the play-off final of the Portuguese Basketball League (LPB).
After winning 79-58 last Saturday, the Reds won 56-48 at Pavilhão da Luz today.
The Eagles had a solid first three games (15-10, 13-11, 16-11 and 12-16) and started the final game with a 12-point lead, Aaron Brusa Germany (Aaron Broussard) is the team’s MVP full game (12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists).
The third game will be played at Dragão Arena next Thursday (9th) at 6pm.

19′ – Last minute of the game: Benfica left with a 9-point advantage. Broussard and Clifford held off the Dragons 11-0.
15′ – 53-39 – Max Landis leads the Blues and Whites response. Five points reduce the handicap. Ivan Almeida returned to a more comfortable edge of the free throw line.
12′ 30” – 51-34 – Benfica’s strong entry in the final period, with a 6-0 record. Moncho Lopez called for a timeout in order to introduce arguments against the Reds’ second-biggest advantage in the challenge (17 points).
final part three – 44-32 – Ivan Almeida sank, assisted by Ben Romdhane, to replace the Eagles by 12 points. White and Blue continued to show great difficulty scoring, with Benfikista blaming some of the precipitation in their choice of layups. Let’s get to the final decisive part…
5′ – 37-24 – Interesting start to two sets: Betinho’s 3-pointer answered by Landis’ 3-pointer. Just an illusion of progress as the team misses a lot of shots again. Betinho remained active and brought Norberto Alves’ side back with a maximum advantage of 10 points. Profits increase with contributions from Broussard and Gaines. The suspension requested by the Blues and Whites did not stop the opposing sides from advancing.
The second part begins
final part two – 28-21 – The first half was very weak and both sides were inefficient. Even so, Benfica came out on top, maximizing their advantage (27-19) 2.24 minutes before the break, two points ahead of striker Lewis with 10 points and a strong intervention close to the table (8 bumps) . A timeout requested by Moncho López stopped the Eagles’ ascent.

15′ – 5 minutes with 6 points for Benfica and 5 for Porto. Many missed the launch, and the athletes showed anxiety about the final.
Part 1 of the final – 15-10 – Porto players recover from action by Morrison, Landis and Amarante. Benfica went on for more than three minutes without scoring. Ben Romdan and Barbosa (made two free throws) helped the Hawks in those five minutes.
5′ – 9-2 – Lewis’ 3-pointer near the rim and Ivan Almeida’s 3-pointer put Benfica in front of the section. Porto FC responded with Alic’s bid. There were a lot of mistakes on both sides of the pitch. Landis and Morrison on Dragon.
