In addition to information, the e-commerce platform shop@BASF will promote solutions that bring sustainability to the value chain. Focusing on the environmental, economic and social pillars, the company has set challenging goals that were consistent with several years ago and is investing in research and development to improve its product portfolio and ensure that the industry can improve its processes or provide consumers of its products with better sustainable product. .

Carbon emissions from sales made on the shop@BASF platform will be offset by BASF throughout the week. These emissions will be measured in collaboration with Fundação Espaço ECO, a sustainability consultancy created and maintained by BASF. With the support of local partners, carbon offsets will be achieved by planting seedlings at BASF’s chemical park in Guaratingueta, São Paulo, and at the Mata Viva project in nine countries in South America. Additionally, for each Satisfaction Survey (NPS) answered in June, the customer experience team will follow the same pattern for tree planting.

These actions help meet the company’s global goals, including a 25% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 from 2018 levels, and a climate-neutral journey to net-zero emissions by 2050. BASF has calculated its carbon footprint by product since 2007 and has provided this information with digital tools since 2021. Another important goal is to increase the share of products in the product portfolio that make a significant contribution to the sustainability of the company’s sales value chain, which will be rolled out throughout the week.
