The State Government, through the Secretary of State for Education and Technology, issued an announcement this Tuesday (14th) on the 2022 School Arts and Culture Festival – Arte em Cena, with the theme “Augusto Present: Avatars “Self in a Creative Metaverse”. The festival will feature hybrid and remote events on digital platforms, as well as funding for mentors. In this edition, the festival will commemorate the life and works of the poet Augusto dos Anjos from Paraíba, with the guiding theme: ‘Augusto Presente: Avatars Do Eu no Metaverso Criativo’. The programme includes an alternative format, so themes will develop in seven artistic languages: visual arts, dance, literature, music, audiovisual production, theatre and photography.

This initiative, carried out by SEECT in collaboration with the Research Support Foundation (Fapesq), aims to encourage exposure to various manifestations in the field of art, as well as to strengthen engagement with local and national works of art in regular school practice in units belonging to the National Education Network. Cultural and emotional bonds.

All schools in the Paraíba State Education Network offering grades 8 and 9 in the final years of elementary and high school, youth and adult education (EJA) cycles IV, V and VI will be able to participate in the festival. This year, social education schools and institutions that provide prison education will also be able to participate.

Hybrid events will take place in schools offering primary and final years of high school, while for EJA and social education school models, festivals will take place remotely on digital platforms.

In order to improve the action carried out within the festival, during the implementation of the regional and state phases, a grant of R$ 600.00 will be given to mentor teachers of seven proposals selected from 14 regional educational administrations. , for a period of five month

stage: The festival is configured as a series of educational and cultural experiences and rodeos involving students and teachers from the National Education Network. It will take place in three phases: school, district and state.

The first will be carried out in each registered school unit, the second will develop from the regional education administrations linked to the schools, culminating in the third phase, with a national character.

Students must be accompanied by a tutor for activities in each artistic language in the teaching unit, and one teacher cannot accompany more than one activity. This restriction also applies to students who cannot participate in more than one arts language.

school stage – The school phase corresponds to the activities carried out in the context of each teaching unit registered in the festival, for which eligibility is granted. Schools are permitted to hold school festivals to promote and select representatives of each artistic language. As the final product of the school phase, each teaching unit must systematize a single school project and a production using the language of art.

Regional Stage – The regional phase corresponds to the activities developed by each of the 14 regional management (GRE). It has a qualifying and knockout nature, corresponding to the selection of works for each GRE’s artistic language, so there are a total of 16 works representing each GRE in the status phase.

Status stage – The status phase corresponds to the activities implemented taking into account the integration and interaction of all activities carried out by the works selected by the 14 regional educational administrations and will be conducted remotely. National committees should use digital or other tools to ensure universal participation in the festival. As part of the tribute to Augusto dos Anjos, the three stages of the national stage will be named after his biography and the universe of his works, namely: Avatar, Eu and Metaverso.

Avatar refers to a virtual, conceptual, and immortal representation of a biological individual. This projection can be more poetic and fictional, or more biographical, configuring in the same way a projection and a virtual representation, an avatar; Eu, a work published by Augusto dos Anjos during his lifetime, is The intersection of 58 poems, synthesizing the most unique poetic expressions of Brazilian literature; Metaverse is a concept that refers to a parallel reality that takes place in an online virtual world, a space in which avatars can be projected, interacted according to the idea of ​​virtual reality , living together and creating. The self-incarnation in the creative metaverse is thus a revival of the Augustinian self projected by student art into a multi-faceted virtual universe.

In the “Avatar” stage, the jury will appreciate all the works in the regional stage, and select 5 works according to artistic language, a total of 35 works. The second stage (qualifiers), called Eu, corresponds to the two finalist works of art language selected by the public via Instagram (@arteemcenaofficialpb). Of the 35 proposals published, 14 will be included in the final stage.

The third and final stage (elimination), called metaverse, corresponding to the closing of the “Augusto Presente: Incarnation of Self in the Creative Metaverse” film festival, where the winning entries will be chosen by popular vote.The Metaverse stage will be broadcast live on one platform and will be published on the official channels of Arte em Cena and/or SEECT

The two finalists for each artistic language will be revealed during the live broadcast.

EJA – festival “Augusto Presente: Self-incarnation in the Creative Metaverse – Eja Em Cena” will be developed in a remote format so as not to disrupt school routines and respect EJA’s workload.

Awards – All participants on the national stage will receive a certificate for the development of artistic production. Students admitted to the National Stage of the Festival will earn 20 hours of Art Language classes. On the festival’s state stage, all 16 students with winning proposals will receive a smartphone, a Participation Medal (Tamarindo de Ouro) and a state championship certificate. Trophies will be awarded to all schools of the festival’s 16 winning entries.
