With new proposals on the market, offers for Bluetooth speakers are increasing and the quality of sound reproduction is improving, even as we see more affordable brands. The Tronsmart Bang is a recently launched loudspeaker offering unique technology for around 100 euros.
But in terms of sound, is it surprising? Come and discover all its details.
The Tronsmart Bang is a new wireless speaker with Bluetooth connectivity (but not only that) and 60W of power. It integrates two tweeters and two woofers, guaranteeing true stereo reproduction.
One of its features is that it includes an LED light system that can be defined by the user or change to the beat of the music.
Its integrated battery guarantees, according to the manufacturer, that it can play music for about 15 hours at 50% volume.
The Tronsmart Bang features patented SoundPulse technology that delivers louder, more powerful sound than standard speakers. Another feature of this speaker is that it can be connected to a group of up to 100 other Bang speakers using Tronsmart TuneConn technology to amplify the audio-visual experience. Supports Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC.
Users can adjust some parameters through the app, namely sound pulse, hi-fi, classical, vocal, bass, rock and 3D playback modes. It's all supported by a voice assistant.
Plus, it's IPX6 certified, waterproof, and allows you to charge other devices like a power bank.
The box only comes with Tronsmart Bang speakers, USB charging cable, 3.5mm male/male jack cable (for aux input) and quick instruction manual.
Construction and design of Tronsmart Bang
The Tronsmart Bang is a rugged speaker. Measuring 361 x 183.4 x 150.3 mm and weighing 3.08 kg, it combines plastic with a soft mesh for the speaker area and rubber for the buttons.
It has a handle that accompanies the entire structure, with the brand's inscription, and on the side, LED lights that can change color according to the user's preference or the rhythm of the music stand out. A "resonator membrane" for bass is also placed on the side.
In the area below the grid, at the front, there is also an LED light bar that coordinates with the sides. Below the handle, also towards the front, there are several buttons and important operating instructions.
First the NFC area, then the battery level LED, then the TuneConn connect button. Then there are buttons for changing modes, volume (-), play/pause, volume (+), the SoundPulse button with its status indicator, and the power button and Bluetooth indicator. It should be noted that in the manual, in addition to the obvious actions associated with them, all actions that the buttons allow are indicated.
At the rear are various connections protected by solid rubber, thus guaranteeing protection against water ingress. It has a USB-A, USB-C, aux-in port, and even a microSD card slot.
The speaker has NFC. Thus, fast Bluetooth pairing is possible, avoiding the usual extra pairing steps.
Bluetooth 5.0 technology is not only for music playback, you can also use it for calls (because it has a microphone), and also with the voice assistants Alexa, Google Assistant or Cortana.
There's also Tronsmart TuneConn technology, which allows you to connect up to 100 Tronsmart Bang speakers in perfect harmony. We only have one column for testing, so cannot prove its effectiveness in this review.
Tronsmart Bang loudspeakers are primarily intended for placement in open spaces (outdoors) or large rooms. According to the manufacturer, it is a column for street parties.
It has a very wide sound range, with balanced bass and treble that stands out. The sound is still guaranteed to be free of sound distortion at very high levels, but there is a limit that may vary depending on the style of music and the mode selected.
However, the settings in the default mode (loose bass below 50% volume) do not fully guarantee sound balance, so the equalization mode must be adjusted according to the requirements of each musical style.
Also worth mentioning is the SoundPulse technology, which does guarantee an increase in volume compared to all other modes without compromising the quality of reproduction.
The Tronsmart Bang speaker costs €99.99, which is a very interesting price considering the quality on offer.
Sound reproduction, communication reliability and connection interface are factors to be positively emphasized. The sound quality and its balance add many positives, and considering its size and being powered by a battery, you can expect very high sound levels.
However, the app seems to need improvement. For example, it does not save EQ mode settings between uses. Also, it doesn't have a custom EQ mode where you can expect an equalizer with at least 8 bands.
As noted by the manufacturer, the autonomy can even reach 15 hours at 50% volume. At around 75% volume, we reached around 10h of playback time, which is also very satisfying to us. Note that this column can be used as a USB power bank.
Pplware thanks Tronsmart for providing the Tronsmart Bang column for review.
